Happy birthday Alva!

She is 4 months today! Crazy how time flies...
We weighed her at the doctors yesterday and she is now a healthy 6.7 kilos! Big girl.

The treatment is going well,we have now increased the dosage to approx 15ml/day. The doctor is very happy with the progress and you can slowly see the "strawberry" going down/reducing.
In a months time, we will go for another progress check up and hopefully it will be significantly different by then.

Parklife

A couple of times a week, Alva and I go for a walk in the park. Its a chance for me to exercise and for Alva to see the ducks! There are two who seem to be living in the fountain of Regents Park and they are always very happy to see us. I think I will start bringing some bread crumbs with me next time, so we can feed them. They are so cute!

Developments at 15 weeks

Mmm....yummy.

These last two days have been quite a milestone in terms of Alvas development. She has managed to:

Grab toys with her hands

Kick toys with her feet

Put toys in her mouth and try to eat them

Roll over twice in a row

Tried to crawl a few times but failing (a bit too early for that)

Also, today I had lunch with my friend Susie who has a 5 month old baby boy. We sat them opposite eachother to see what they would do and Alva was absolutely mesmerised by this young man. She didnt stop flirting and smiling to him (wonder where she gets that from....).

He played it quite cool and mainly sucked on his finger. Then they exhanged a few baby words like "uuuurrgh" and "eeeh". Really fascinating to see how they communicate at that age.

Today she also loved having a bath for the first time. Our bath routines have usually been rather unsuccesful, with Alva crying or looking at us with the saddest face in the world. But today she was kicking her legs and arms in the water so it splashed everywhere (over me!). She laughed the whole time. Amazing what a difference a day makes...

Soon we will be sending her off to college!

13 weeks old

She can grab her toy book

She can hold herself up on her tummy

Time goes by so quickly and Alva is already 13 weeks old! She can now hold herself up when we lie her on her tummy. She has managed to roll over a couple of times too but this should properly start in 2-3 weeks time.

We have finally invested in some toys for her which are attached to the pram and dangle over her so that she can reach out and grab them. She now manages to do this - after 2 weeks of crying every time we put her to play!

A bit of a late update but here are some images from our weekend in Stockholm, 14 - 18th April.

We had a wonderful time, going to museums, exhibitions, cafes and to Skansen (for all you non swedish people, this is an open air museum/zoo).

Alva is now so active and she is starting to take an interest in her surroundings, so going to the Albert Watson photographic exhibition was perfect as she responds really well to black/white images.
